Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran is an American businesswoman. In 2001, she founded The Corcoran Group in New York City. The company was sold to the company to NRT for $66 millions. In the following months she resigned from the company. Corcoran, one of ABC's original Shark investors was a featured guest of every episode of Shark Tank. In February of 2020, Corcoran had made 53 deals, with the largest being a $350,000 deal that was able to cover 40% of Coverplay. Corcoran was born in Edgewater (New Jersey) as the second of ten children in an Irish-Catholic working class family. Florence Corcoran's mom, was a homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was her father. He was constantly changing jobs throughout Corcoran's career. Her family frequently relied on free food deliveries from a local grocer. Corcoran remembers her fatheras a man who sometimes drank excessively, and behaved towards her mother with disrespect and condescendingly, especially after he'd had a few drinks. Corcoran struggled through her schooling and was later diagnosed with dyslexia. Corcoran attended an Catholic elementary school, and later began high school in Englewood at St. Cecilia High School. Corcoran completed her studies at Leonia High School with a diploma in English, despite not completing several classes in her first year of high school.
