Catherine Anne
Catherine Anne O'Hara OC (born March 4, 1954)is a Canadian-American actress, comedian, and writer. O'Hara has been awarded numerous prizes, including a Genie Award and a Golden Globe Award. O'Hara also was awarded two Screen Actors Guild Awards, two Primetime Emmy Awards, six Canadian Screen Awards, and two Screen Actors Guild Awards. In the year 2018, she was appointed an Officer of Canada. In 2020, she was presented with the Governor General's Performing Arts Lifetime Artistic Achievement award. O'Hara was first noticed as an actress when she was part of The Second City improv comedy troupe in Toronto in 1974. Together with John Candy, O'Hara was part of the main cast for the sitcom Coming Up Rosie (1975-1978). O'Hara, Candy, and Dan Aykroyd first began working on Second City Television's sketch comedy program (1976-1984). O'Hara received critical acclaim for her comedic writing and acting skills which earned her the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writer for an episode of a Variety Series in 1982. In 2022, O'Hara was added to the new Second City artistic advisory board led by Stephen Colbert, along with Steve Carell, Dwayne Colbert, Tina Fey, Keegan-Michael Key, Julia Louis-Dreyfus Jane Lynch, Tim Meadows, Peter Murrieta, Suzy Nakamura, Sam Richardson, Jeff Richmond, Jason Sudeikis, and Robin Thede.
