She is well-known for her performances in Spamalot's West End original production and the Regent's Park revival of Into the Woods. Her performances have been rewarded by three Olivier Award nominations. In 2015, she joined the Game of Thrones cast as Septa Unella in the fifth season's sixth season. In addition to her part as Septa Unella as well, she was also an ensemble actor of the 2012 film adaptation of Les Miserables as well as the 2018 British psychological thriller Winter Ridge. Waddingham is nominated for the Golden Globe Award.
