Kyra Minturn

 Kyra Minturn, who was born August 19, 1965, is an American actress. She also works as an actor and producer. She is most famous for her starring role as deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson on the TNT crime drama The Closer. Sedgwick received an award in 2007 for her portrayal of Johnson. Golden Globe Award in 2007 for her portrayal of Johnson as well as an Emmy Award 2010 for her portrayal. The show ended on August 13, 2012, following the conclusion of its seventh season. Sedgwick is also famous for her recurring character in the role of Madeline Wuntch, on the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Sedgwick was nominated to a Golden Globe award in 1995 for her performance in Something to Talk About. Sedgwick's roles in other films include Oliver Stone's Born of the Fourth of July (1989) as well as Cameron Crowe's Ones (1992) The Heart and Souls (1993), Phenomenon (1996), What's cooking (2000) and Secondhand Lions (2003). The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2013). Sedgwick was the daughter of Patricia Rosenwald who was an therapist for speech and family and Henry Dwight Sedgwick IV who was a venture capitalist. Her birthplace was in New York City. Her mother was Jewish and her father was Episcopalian as well as of English origin. Sedgwick has declared that she's Jewish and has been a participant in Passover dinners.
